I use bolts and put nuts on them to keep them from falling out. Quicker
would be to use something like the bars used to hold a trailer tongue in and
a hitch pin to secure it.

I used to use bolts alone, but after one 500-mile trip, both bolts had
jiggled out and the DB was carried solely by the winch cable - not good.
Even with bolts in, I put a little tension on the winch cable to help spread
the load a bit.
