Ralph,

By this do you mean that the two rails are pinned to the
board so that instead of two bolts holding the board from
falling thru if the cables break, there are two long AL
rails tight against the board on each side, bolted on with
the travel holes? How's the top of the trunk look? I realize
that the dimples I have would be from the two bolts I use,
but I'd be concerned that the rails would simply tear up
the trunk over a larger area. Since you still use it, I
assume this is not the case and that the top of the trunk
is actually in as good shape as new?

I really like this idea and will probably switch over to
it myself. I don't like the two dents on each side of my
trunk from the bolts.
