The factory sent a mast crutch that bolts at the mini stays and has a block
on the other end that I put the jib halyard through, this lifts the line
about 4 feet off the mast giving leverage, this line goes to a block and
tackle of about 3 to 1 attached at the bow pulpit and runs to a cam cleat at
the aft of the cabin roof. I can pull the mast up with out much effort. Ron
made his own crutch as have I on another boat, Ron also added a set of
grudgens next to the factory installed ones so he can lower the mast and
have the rudder installed at the same time as the factory trailoring crutch,
he goes under fixed bridges with this set up and tows his boat very short
distances totally rigged.
