What a neat way to go from one name to another on sailing vessels. Just a
slight addition to it though. If your boat's name has anything to do with a
song or jingle, you must play it so it can be heard, or possibly even
backwards like the Beatle's Number Nine tune of the White album. Maybe to
coincide with someone's suggestion of sailing backwards to erase it. And as
far as removing vinyl letters from the boat, a hair dryer works great to
soften them up enough to peel them off of the hull. Then, if there is any
residue, a little Goo Off sticky-stuff-remover afterwards works great

I'm not sure if that was a suggestion for Windsong's new name, but this one
was a blessing to see. I imagine Tom and Valerie have many great thoughts on
that note as they sail the San Juans. And if the gathering at the end of the
month takes place, maybe there will be a renaming ceremony. That would
really be neat+ACEAIQ- Windsong was previously named Willow Wind from the book
Wind in the Willows. To paraphrase, +ACI-there is nothing, absolutely nothing as
nice as puttering about in a boat+ACI-.
I am glad I have a sense of humor, and I usually let things go. However, it
was hard to read some of the jestful suggestions for renaming her. If you
haven't already, go to the NW potter website and read of Windsong's big
adventure. Eric relayed Tom's story well of the demise of their trailer. Can
any of us imagine what it would be like to be driving through Fourth of July
Pass with traffic at 70 plus mph whizzing past, only to have the trailer
break down, and almost a TON of boat, motor and gear come swinging around
after flying off the trailer and lay to a rest right next to your vehicle?
Thank goodness Tom was not hurt.

It sure would be nice to see some additional pictures of boats with their
new owners on the web sites. Maybe more of people's recent adventures too?
It's nice to reminisce.

Thanks for allowing me to vent since this was so close to home.
