Wood works pretty well, too. It offers the advantage of being
softer than the FRP keel trunk but adequately strong. I use four 1"
thick blocks which, combined, contact most of the upper surface
of the trunk. Planks (p'haps 1"x4"x kell length), each with two
holes, would be better, but Iused the scraps at hand many moons ago.
