Forestay failure

I was sailing in Lake Texoma last weekend and noticed a wire peeling
from the forestay in my P-15. On my boat, the upper end of the forestay
is secured to an eyestrap that is apparently pop-riveted to the mast.
Does anyone have any recommendations on where to obtain a new forestay?
I assume my choices are IM, West and the like. My biggest concern is
specifications on the pop-rivets. My fear is that the ones available
locally are not of sufficient tensile strength for the loads placed upon
them. Any thoughts?
