I did indeed read the Battery FAQ that SolarFry recommended as well as
Battery FAQ at www.windsun.com (which was excellent) suggested by someone on
the cruising newsgroup
I've come to the conclusion my battery needs to be replaced. A drop in
voltage to 11 or so volts meant that my battery was about 90% discharged after
using it for 16 hours to run a 7.5 watt bulb. It should have been about 11%
discharged after running that small load. This information was clearly
explained at www.windsun.com
