I have read the discussion about tuning stays with interest and most of what
has been written agrees with what I learned from racing C-15's. However,
one critical area in tuning a C-15 was mast rake. Too far forward or
backwards and the boat would not point into the wind or accelerate properly.
Adjustments are easily made by moving the pin location on the fore and side
stays; a back stay is not need for this adjustment in P-15s. Has anyone
experimented with mast rake in a wwp15? If so, what is the best rake for
general purpose sailing?
