Potter sailors take note---

The people who have the greatest amount of experience with Potters are
those on the west coast, in the_ Potter Yachters_, the Northern
California West Wight Potter Association. In all of the time that I
have been messing around with my old Potter, trying to get it fixed
up, and asking other, more knowledgeable people for advice, the name
that I continually run into as someone who can answer questions is
Jerry Barrilleaux.

Not only is Jerry very experienced in sailing Potters, he is
mechanically inclined (to put it mildly!)--he is the one who has
engineered the backstay kit for the P-19. It is my understanding that
if you want to ask him a Potter question the thing NOT to do is to go
out sailing when he is out and try to catch up to him to ask the
question--he is also the fastest Potter sailor around!

This is not to say that there are not other sharp, knowledgeable
Potterers on the Potter web--several other names come to mind very
quickly, among them Harry Gordon, Solar Fry, Larry Costa, Lars
Mulford, Bill Combs, and several others whose postings are often seen
on the Potter web. But as far as problem solving, and just simply
knowledge, is concerned, we are all ahead now that Jerry is on line.
