Greetings all:

In response to Greg's request for information regarding Potter quality, the
following are my experiences.

I'll start by saying that I love my boat and would recommend it to anyone
who does the type of sailing which I do or for which the boat was
designed.

My boat is a 1997 P-19. I have experienced a cracked transom due to
carrying my motor on the motor bracket and a crack in the deck at the
junction between the v-berth cabin and forward deck. Both areas have
been nicely repaired. I have had trouble getting IM to honour their
warranty with regards to these repairs.

With regards to hardware, I have not had anything break catastrophically
although the masthead light proved to be unserviceable when I needed to
replace the bulb. This ended up in my needing to replace the masthead
light.

In general, I am happy with the boat and have had a lot of fun with it. One
of the members of this group once told me that any boat is going to
involve a love-hate relationship. Fortunately for me it has been more love
than hate.
