The best thing that could be done to conserve bandwidth would be for
people to learn to trim their messages. The common habit on this
list, unlike most lists I frequent, is to copy every bit of a
message that one is replying to. After a while there are ten or 12
messages, with ">" characters running half across a page, and mail
messages that are a couple hundred lines long, just so someone can
say "I agree!".
