Agreed, and I normally do that. In this instance, I could not, because I
chose to use rivets for the deckplates, and I couldn't figure out a good way
to put partial tension on a rivet. If I was really up to a challenge, I
would have used bolts and nuts, but I didn't have an assistance.

In a few weeks I'll have a good idea as to whether this seal job is holding
up.
