That's something that should be checked. I didn't break a shear pin,
but my Nissan 3.5 moved the boat at break neck (or break boat and dock)
speed in idle. I found a hole in the housing with a screw head in it
that went on into the carburetor. I stuck a screw driver in it and
reduced the rpm to about 1/4 turn above where it was threatening to
die. Now everything's cherry. We approach the dock at 1.75 knots
instead of 2 knots.
