I just tie it to the mast. The drum extends out front about a foot or
foot and a half so rather than let it flop around?? I use a piece of
wood about 1" x 2" x 4ft and lash that to the mast and furler for
support. I have towed the boat about 3000 miles and have had no
problem from the furler.
