Carl Huber asked about cleaning gunk from the hull of his P-15, which had been
berthed for the season.

We berth our P-15 in a marina on Lk. Superior and the boat's bottom has a
coating of fresh-water organic slime and crud by the end of each season. If
you just want to clean it off, to like-new condition, you can use a spray type
tub-and-shower cleaner like "Comet Bathroom Heavy Duty Cleaner." Spray it on
liberally to a section of bottom and let it sit for 5 min. or so, then wipe
gently with a damp fine or moderate grade plastic pad, like those from 3-M,
then rinse. It usually takes a couple of bottles of the spray stuff to clean
the whole bottom, even if the gunk has already dried. Note that this is after
a season in fresh water -- don't know how it would work in brackish or salt
water.

It works great for us -- cleans to the shine, with minimal elbow grease. It's
an invaluable tip we read on this very Net.
