Hi William, There have been several types of maststeps used on P. 19's over
the years. Your boat should have the heavier built mast with a backstay. The
step is most likely a U shaped piece of sheet metal with a L shaped slot cut
into the sides. your mast should cross drilled with a stainless steel pin of
about 3/8 " dianeter rurring through the mast. This pin should stick outside
the mast about an inch on each side. You also need a piece of tubing that fits
over the pin and fits inside the mast. The pin and tube should be cross
drilled in the middle for a cotter pin, this keeps the mast pin from falling
out. If you have any trouble getting the parts please let me know. I could
