I'm re-fitting my 1985 P-19 with CDI roller furling and new sails and I need
to know the length of the forestay. The existing forestay on my boat is not
original.

Does anyone know the true length of the forestay? The 1998 Owner's manual says
it's 228 7/8" (19' 7/8") - is this accurate? I would prefer an actual
measurement , since there are several errors in the information from IM.

Also, my boat has an additional forestay that goes from the mast head to the
bow pulpit. Does anybody else have this?

Why does the bow chain plate have two holes in it for attachment? is it
likely that my boat originally had a forestay from the chain plate to the
masthead as well as a forestay that goes up as high as the upper shroud?

thanks,
Judy B.
