I fly an asymetrical spinnaker from my masthead. I modified the factory =
masthead mount by drilling two holes inside the two sheaves and running =
the halyards inside the mast. The fore sheave is for the spinnaker and =
the after sheave is for the main. I measured "I" as 24 feet instead of =
the 22 feet IM measures. After a few times out with the spinnaker, I =
decided I needed a rear masthead stay, which I am presently working on. =
According to GPS, I can increase downwind speed by almost 4 knots, and =
since I only have a lapper, the asymetrical doubles as genoa.
Ordered my triradial spinnaker from UK sailmakers. Very satisfied with =
quality and price. Almost bought a used sail for a quarter of the =
price, but didn't and have no regrets.
