There is a discussion and diagram of a Barber haul on page 122/123 of "Sail
Power" by Wallace Ross. Should be easily available in local libraries. It
shows a small block riding on the jib sheet to which is attached a line
which goes to a fairlead on the outboard rail and from thence to the
cockpit. It says, "Tensioning the Barber haul block moves the jib lead
outboard, changing the athwartship angle of trim."
