My name is Larry Nelson and I live in Springfield, MO. I do not own a WWP yet,
but own a few other boats, sail and power, and am a USCG lic. captain with
sail auxiliary and own and operate a 49 passenger sailing catamaran on Table
Rock Lake in the Branson, MO area. I am very interested in the Potters. I have
spent the past several days exploring the very considerable amount of
information flow on this vessel. I have both of Larry Browns books for years,
and blew the dust off and really read them. I haul (for the past 7 years) a
Chrysler 26 sloop with volvo diesel aux to the FL Keys every March. It takes
me 3 hard hours to make this rig ready for launch (min.). I rig and laucnch by
myself, as my wife flies down to Miami after I'm there and all set up. I might
be tired of this. We are also the proud owners of a (classic, thanks) GMC
motor home, which I love to drive but would not want to tow the 9500 pounds of
Chrysler and trailer and gear behind this thing. We love the Keys, and have
other places in mind as well, like the Sea of Cortez. I have several questions
about the WWP's.
1. What is the "real" time to rig and launch the P-19?
2. What is the "real" weight of P-19 and trailer? (Don't concern yourself with
gear weight).
3. Does the P-19 trailer have brakes? Can they be added?
4. I already own a new 5hp Nissan with integral tank. Is this adequate for the
P-19?
5. Is the P-19 really beachable? I love this feature if it is so.
6. What is the length of the cockpit?

I see myself and maybe the dog doing a trip through the W. coast of FL (10,000
Islands, then to Marathon, Bahia Honda, Boca Grande and Marquesas, all using
the Motorhome as the base and a series of day sails with occaisional
overnight, like at Boca Grande/Marquesas west of Key West, favorite spots for
us.
BTW-We GMC'ers have a GMCnet which is similar to this board. We are also all
crazy. If I can help anyone with heavy boat trailering and rigging/ long
distance towing/ Florida Keys from Miami on down and out to the Dry Tortugas /
or anything else, please feel free to email me directly. Thanks in advance and
I hope this long post makes it to the message board. Larry Nelson
