Hi John

There are probably plenty of answers to your question now.

When I first got Frimi, I tried raising the mast alone.
I am about 5' 9" tall and probably have normal couch potato
upper body strength, I was able to raise the mast alone, but
I got a charley horse doing it and once it was up I still had
a friend attach the forestay.

Usually if I have someone along I have the taller one of us
stand in the cockpit to raise the mast from the mast saddle.
The other lifts the mast from his hands upright. The tall guy
or some one else attaches the forestay. Then I attach forward
portion of the mast step with the clevis pin provided for this
purpose.

The mast raising system is pretty wonderful when raising alone.
I find that I am not thourough enough checking that the stays are
set properly and I have more than once had to lower the mast
when it is 3/4 of the way up, to adjust the stays.

The other day I handed the mast up to my friend who raised it
put the clevis pin in before the forestay which he attached himself
with no apparent damage to the cabin top, so perhaps it could be done,
but that step from the cockpit to cabin top while holding the
mast is a doozy.
