I doubt if the builder plans to go into production on Brendan. The boat is
welded aluminum and was custom built to Brown's design. He underestimated
the buoyancy of the box keel. Before the boat would float upright, it
required subtantially more ballast than Brown had intended. I think it has
about 400 lb of lead.

At the time of the article he was planning to take it on a world trip, as I
recall, or maybe just to Europe, and write another book, I presume. I have
the magazine also...somewhere.
