The birth of twins (April 98), and a busy work/home construction
schedule have eliminated much of my sailing time. I have a 19 Foot WWP
with roller furling, sail covers, lazy jacks, tiller tamer, and a 2.5 three
year old outboard on a mooring buoy on Medicine Lake, near the junction of
highway 169 and Medicine lake road in Plymouth, MN, five miles west of
downtown Minneapolis. The boat is at Harty's North Marina, a decidedly low
key operation. She sits in 4 feet of water, no dinghy necessary, just keep
waders in the trunk and use them to walk out to the buoy to retrive the
boat and haul her to the dock. You can be sailing eight minutes after
pulling into the parking lot. I am putting her up for part time charter:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: all day, Sunday: after 11 a.m. Charter for the
entire season, May to Mid September, for $375, which is a fraction of the
cost of hourly or daily sailboat rental on that lake. Refundable damage
depost of $150. This may evolve into a permanent relationship with the
right party, including possible sale of this boat in 4 years, when my
family looks like it's going to outgrow my little boat! Reply by e-mail, or
call me at 612-544-5278. Help with bottom scrubbing at the end of the
season appreciated, but not mandatory. Minnesota Potters, kindly pass the
word. Dean Knudson.
