As far as the automatic bilge pump idea, its a excellent one. Keep her pumped
dry and she'll not suffer from internal water blistering. As far as Larrys
accurate comment about draining the battery, that too is accurate.

A humble suggestion folks, is to install a Solar Panel with a small regulator
hooked up to that battery. An 32 Watt unit should keep that bilge pump happy
AND your Potters battery charged up for that spur of the moment sailing
adventure. Might save you money in the long run with your deep cycle battery
lasting more than a year or so.
