For a few months now I have been looking at new 4 stroke motors for my
P.19. Today we went to the san Francisco Boat show, determined to buy a new
motor. As you know this summer two strokes will be banned at Lake Tahoe, and
many others are sure to follow. The lightest motor we found was the Yamaha 4
HP.4 stroke, It weighed only 49 pounds! (thats the good news) The bad news is
in order to achieve this they used LOTSA PLASTIC! Even the starter housing was
plastic. We looked at 5 HP Evenrudes, Too heavy,Too pricey. The Honda's were
too heavy and too pricey.
So finally we went to Nissan, they were not too heavy, had little plastic, and
were extremely simple. But the dealer couldn't beat svensons price so we drove
to Alameda and bought the Nissan. Jerry Barrilleaux HMS 18 Sunshine
