Good grief, here we go again! Do you folks ever _sail_ your boats? [Note,
not "ships."]

Repairing any split wooden member with epoxy or polyester resin is indeed
a good method, but I'd recommend holding the whole thing together with
these marvelous new inventions: SS or brass wood screws; no need to take
up cabinetmaking. Takes about 1/10 the time and will last forever. My
rudder's got a decade on such a repair.If you're really practical,
Elmer's glue and screws will work as well since you must in any case
apply a waterproof coating to protect the wood.

Have we lost all touch with practicality here?
