The first mod I did to Necessity was changing the rudder downhaul. I copied
a design off the web that was used on a Mac26:

http://www.mv.com/ipusers/whale/h1rcontrol.html

Where the author uses looped shockcord, I used a short rubber one. I moved
the eyestrap from the leading edge of the lower rudder section to the
starboard side, and mounted a cheek block on the starboard cheekplate
just behind the forward bolt. I also had to add an eyestrap on the
upper rudder half below the existing cheek block. I ran the lines
just like in the Mac26 illustration for the downhaul. The factory kickup
line works fine.

I had intended to post pictures of my setup, but never got around to it.
Maybe once the boat is back from storage in *sniff* a few months.
