I am back from being snowed in for 2 days in the Sequoia National
Forest and almost crushed by a 30 ton rock that fell into the middle of the
Kern river gorge road (Highway 178). I even got on the news. My 5 minute
interview was reduced to "thats a big rock" from what friends tell me (I
didn't see it). Regarding the Catalina trip, what works on my Schedule is
July 10th through the 12th. Thats a Saturday, Sunday, Monday. It seems like
staying only one night would mean were sailing the whole time and no time to
spend on the island. I am also leaning toward Cat Harbour. Its a little
further to get to but seems like the best anchorage and facilities. My only
worry is will there be enough daylight hours. Please e-mail me personally if
