On the P. 14 / 15, you should keep the centertboard tied securely up in the
trunk.I have seen people launch their boats with the centerboard pennant
loose, the board drops down and hits the trailer cross member and knocks the
C.B. off the pin. If this happens get the boat to shallow water so the C.B. is
resting on the bottom. Then pull the C.B. up and forewards until it drops back
on the pin.
On the P. 19, It is a good idea to let the board rest on the trailer, this
takes the load off the bunk pads. The new Baha trailer gives the boat more
support, so this isn't needed. One more thing, when I beach my small Potter I
let the C.B. drop down and dig into the sand. If you don't do this, sand can
work it's way into the trunk and prevent the C.B. from being lowered.
