I've looked at this and decided it could be done, but would take a bit of
engineering.

First. The mast is a bit forward of the aft ends of the bunks so we would
have to have a "V" shaped brace made for inside the cabin top. I don't know
how big it would have to be to take care of the torque problem.

Second. The bottom of the vertical braces would have to rest on a
crossmember that would transfer the load back to the (fiberglass) keel as
the flat parts of the bottom of the hull are too flexible (thin) to carry
the load. This actually would not be a problem if you also made it part of
a brace for the front of the retractable-keel trunk.

With the 'single' center post gone, the only thing that would be in the way
would be the keel cable.

If you (or someone else) come up with the spec's for this I would be
interested in a copy.
