As an user of a 3.5, I'd say if you can afford it, get the 5hp. The 3.5 works fine, hits hull speed easily in a calm, will get you out of trouble if you need it. I personally think a 5 hp is better suited to the 19, especially if you add a lot of weight (like people!). It's like pulling a 19 with a Ford Escort--you could, and it would be okay, but it's really not the ideal thing to do...
