Hi George,

Jerry and I measured his sails when I was preparing to order my new custom
sails. His lapper is 60 square feet (luff 17.50', foot 8.42', leech 14.68',
LP approx 6.84'). That makes it just under 100% of the foretriangle area.

UK quoted me a price of $404 for a 110% (69 square feet) lapper of 5-6 oz
tanbark high modulus dacron, with luff tape for the CDI, webbing at the tack
and head rather than grommets (recommended by CDI) and with a UV edge cover
made of light weight dacron (good for 2-4 years if left constantly in the sum,
and practically forever if stored in the shade). White cloth would be about
10% less or around $360. This cloth is going to hold its shape and last
longer than the 3.8 oz cloth Odessey sails are made of.

Several other sailmakers I contacted provided quotes in the same price range
or just a little higher. All of them recommended 5.5 oz or thicker cloth for
sailing SF Bay. All of them offered to measure my boat and custom fit the
sails.

You have to add about $75 to the IM price for the suncover and maybe they also
charge extra for the luff tape (but maybe not, I don't know).

UK made my mainsail, and it's gorgeous. I haven't sailed it yet because we're
had rotten weather here for the last two weeks. I'm going out sailing with
the sail designer from UK tomorrow or Friday (if we have some wind) and he's
going to help me figure out where to place my genoa tracks before he builds my
new 110% lapper for me. He's also going to check out the white genoa we have
with the intent of converting it to the CDI system and possibly recutting it a
little.

Hope this helps for your comparison purposes.

Regards,
Judy B.
