Greeting Webgang,

I was suprised to read that Jon has been sailing less than one year. I didn't
know that, and I certainly wouldn't have guessed from the way he handles his
boat.

Jon handled his boat beautifully at the Potters Yachters' Richmond Weekend in
February, in light winds and very strong currents (6 knots?) thru the strait
on our Saturday trip to Angel Island and Tiburon. That's not an easy thing to
do in light winds with only a 2-HP outboard to back you up in case of
difficulty. He appeared to do it with the grace and skill of a well-seasoned
Bay sailor.

So I want to compliment this relatively new Potter-er and sailor, both on his
skills and on his choice of vessels. I know we all enjoyed his company and
that we all feel safer having him nearby when we're out on the Bay.
