The response to my inquiry about the P-15 was far more than I expected. The
result is that I really do want a P-15, but need to be careful. A few have had
bad experiences with IM and poor or careless building by IM. Most reported
their boats as being well made and sturdy. My porta potta question indicates
that while it appears it will carry one, but I will have to lose a lot of
weight to use it in the cabin or use it in the cockpit, which could prove
embarrassing among other boats. However, it was pointed out that I can
purchase a small Little John from West Marine for under $4 which will solve my
problem and save me money.

After reading about the lateen rig on the P-15 I inquired if any were
available, and Steve Barnes (OLDSURFDUDE) let me know he has one for sale.
Unfortunately, I live near Atlanta, GA (2100 miles from Steve) and don't see
how I can get out there to get it. Sounds like a good deal though. I have
contacted IM about any P-15s near me, with no response from them. If anyone is
in GA or north FL, let me know. I would love to take a sail and introduce my
wife to the P-15.

Thanks to all who responded. Your input is most helpful. I will continue
lurking on your site and perhaps will be able to join you in sailing my own
P-15.

Ed Boatless for now.
