Dear Web Gang
Like Judy, it is difficult for me to do anything nautical without reporting
it to the group.
Yesterday, the first day of Spring, I took Oops out on Lake Hefner at
Oklahoma City and had a wonderful time.
My new arrangement for having the halyards back to the cockpit didn't work
very well. The ropes to the centerboard got tangled up and caused problems. I
motored out on the lake and while on the lake I attempted to raise the sails
not realizing I had the halyards wrapped around each other as well as the
shrouds. While heaving to to correct some of the foregoing and other problems
I ran aground on a sand bar.
After the first couple of hours I finally got the boat under proper control.
After a long winter I enjoyed the sail from the very beginning to its final
conclusion.
I give thanks to our dear Lord for Spring.
