some up the next time out. Next time we will make sure to wait for better
weather, and will look for a less crowded ramp. As a funny postscript, when
we were taking down the rigging in the parking lot, one of our worst
detractors at the launch ramp earlier was at the other end of the parking lot
wrestling with his car - it seems that his car alarm kept going off over and
over and over, and he could not get it to quit! I thought of a few choice
comments, but instead held my tongue and took the high road (in other words,
my wife wouldn't let me roll down the windows so he could hear me laughing as
we trailered past!)

I too launch at a 100% powerboat ramp most of time. I rig well away from boat
ramps and then tow boat there, launch, tie to dock, park, pay and motor out.
All powerboaters I meet there are very helpfull and not rude. Of course I
never launch on a Sunday as all the rude maniacs are out on Sunday.

The only nasty dude I've encountered was another sailor in a morgan 33.

A lot of problems are usually related to time of day... 5AM to 8AM is
fisherman time and they are in a mad rush to get out to "fishing grounds". I
find 8AM to 10AM to be best times. Preferably 9AM... After 10 AM you get
weekend "rushees" in a rush to get in water so they can race up and down
waterway. These are usually the hot and angry crowd with rudes behaviour...
They are gone by 6 PM.

I usually drive by the nasties and give them a big smile when they are having
problems... Never say a word just a big smile says it all...
