We replaced the original mainsail haly'd turning block at the top of the mast
with a larger one, and since then, raising the boltroped main is _much_ easier
and faster. (We raise the main from the cockpit, through a couple of blocks
on the cabin top.)
We used Schaefer's cheek block with curved base, 303-30, listed at $17.89 in
West Marine's '99 catalog. Our haly'd is 5/16 line. Maybe we're
overengineered but this system sure made sailraising easier.
