I have the new setup and it works fine. Just make sure you have a figure eight
knot on both side in case the CB jumps the pivot bolt as it is the only thing
that would prevent it from going to the bottom. Also leave a couple feet of
free line so you can tie down the CB to the cleat in the down position.

While reinstalling my centerboard a few weeks ago, the swivel shackle that
fits on the centerboard decided to go for a swim. Since the water was 47
degrees and 4-5 feet deep I decided not to swim after it. I thought I could
easily replace the part. But none of the shackles I tried worked (not
enought depth). Calling IM, I was told that they no longer use the shackle,
that the line is just fed through the hole and back to the pulleys. Those of
you with newer boats- Does this work satisfactorily or does it bind up? And
has anyone replaced this shackle-if so where can it be found?
