Tues was the big day as I finally picked up the new P-19 #1091 without a
hitch, well actually I did have a hitch, a 2" ball to be exact. What a
beauty! Here go the questions though as I hope you seasoned sailors will
help me with. What alternative can I use on the shroud pins besides
those little round paper clip things to hole them in? Also I started
the Nissan 5 hp with the garden hose, I really used the pull starter
though but the problem is it seems hard to find neutral with the flimsy
little gear lever and when you do find it and let go of the lever in
rests lightly against in gear mode and makes a gentle grinding unless
you hold the lever centered, (not good) anyone else had similar
problems? F and R no problem though. Besides the 3 metal switches for
anchor masthead and running lights there are 2 black toggle switches,
one turns on the depth finder but the other one seems to do nothing,
anyone know what it's for? Today after work I raised the mast by myself,
I have the mast raising kit included with the pop package but it seems
useless as the holes drilled in the mast cradle don't line up with the
holes the drilled in the mast so I just yanked it up without the crutch
stradleing the cockpit etc. Sunday I'm going to try the sails out in my
driveway too, so far I've just been dinking around a little bit each
day, but then again ain't that what it's all about! My hull # is 1091
which is my house number backwards, does that mean if I can't make the
payments I'm to leave the house and move into the boat.....blah blah
blah I dygress. I do love this boat though!
