Hi Branden,
As for the quality it is not up to catalina or compac standards but from
what I
have seen so far I would not change my decision one bit. There was glue
smeared
around the interior cabin carpeting around the mast support and the mast
raising
fulcrum poles holes don't line up with the mast at all so I just pushed
and
pulled and winched it up no problem. The varnish on the rudder is not of
yacht
quality and for the v-berth center cushion is only 1/4 " mahogany that
creaked
when I put my knee on it, the gelcoat in the cockpit sole was not dry
and became a sticky mess so I'm covering it up with marine carpet. The
rigging and sails electrical system and gel coat seem up to standards.
Although I heard something rolling around in the boom so when I popped
the end cap out came the backside of a pop rivit (maybe that's why they
call em pop rivets! Other than that when you consider it looks like
a little ship with lots of cabin space you can't go wrong. I also
ordered the extra layer of glass in the hull for $300 more. I did get a
good feeling from Scott and Glenn and the bubbly girl that answers the
phones too!
The guys packing up my boat didn't speak much english but seemed helpful
and
concerned with my satisfaction as well. I read on this group all the
time about
all the positive comments one receives on their potters and I haven't
even
gotten her wet yet and a lady came up to me in Las Vegas and started
asking me
about my new boat, she said mine was the first Potter she'd ever seen!
In fact
she has been reading posts on this group to help in her decision. So
lady if you
read this I'm the guy with the green one with the beige colored
topsides!
Happy sailing!
