I have just about completed my restoration project of P15 and I have just a
couple of quick questions.

1. I have a 2hp Evinrude without manual and no experience. What octane gas
should I use or does it matter? The grades around here are 87, 90, and 92.

2. Attaching the main sail at the end of the boom, what length and diameter
of line works best? (I don't have a Potter instruction manual, if there is
such a thing.)

Concerning gel coat and rub rails, I read of a product on the Internet
called "Island Girl Sea Glow" ( See http://www.islandgirlproducts.com/.
It is supposed to clean and brighten vinyl and fiberglass and claims to
whiten yellowed vinyl. It is about $20/bottle. Has anybody tried this
stuff? They also have something called pink lotion that is supposed to be
good for restoring gel coat. Perhaps the person looking to remove oxidation
from gel coat without wax could try this. It is available at Tap Plastics.
I thought about using the Sea Glow but chickened out and used 3M Cleaner/Wax
which did a great job of removing the oxidation on my Potter, and it looks
like new now!

I pick up my main sail tomorrow (it's getting reef points and sail slugs),
so I hope to be in the water by next week.
