flotation for a p15

I was told once that you can put empty 1/2 gallon milk containers under the
cockpit seat and in the cabin for extra flotation. its lightweight and would
move to the highest point possible. containing them together would probably
be a good idea.you Could tie all the handles together or put them in a few
heavy duty lawn bags. It would also take up a large space that would be
taken up by water. I would want to secure by tying them off to where they
could move around but not leave the cabin. Since they are so light you could
remove them at anchor and tie them them off outside. Sure would look funny
though. Or you could have a special dingy for them. They would also be great
buoyancy if you did end up in the drink somehow. In a P15 the cabin is so
small anyway you really only use it to sleep and store things. In a P19 they
would probably be a nuisance.
