Hi again Eric,

One additional thought: if your new-to-sailing friends do decide on SF Bay,
they would be well advised to consult a LOCAL SF Bay sailmaker to be sure
they have a deep enough reef in their mainsail and a small enough jib for the
summer winds.

Nearly all the SF Bay P19 skippers have a second reef that reduces mainsail
area to 50% and we all use the "handkerchief" storm jib of 30 square feet in
the summer.
