Hummmm!

Just checked my Potter number according to the

http://boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.html

and mine is:

HMSB0626D090 and according to above site would be:

HMS(manufacturer) B (19ft) 0626 (#626) D (April) 0 (day
0?) 99 (year 99)

Something wrong with the info supplied on the site. OH,
NOW I GET IT.

Reread the paragraph that starts "The regulations
prescribe....

LAST FOUR IS MONTH AND YEAR OF MANUFACTURE AND MODEL YEAR.

Therefore, on mine D090 means manufactured April 1990 and
Model year 1990.

On Bernie's J899 means manufactured Oct 1998 and model
year 1999.

Tim's I990 means manufactured September 89 and model year
1990.

Does that make sense?
