I accidentally sent your E-mail before I completed typing it, so I will
continue here:

Again, Radio Shack has weather radios for less than twenty bucks. A good
investment for your boat, though, is to spring for a couple of hundred bucks
and get a hand held VHF with a weather band. Most, if not all, the VHF's now
have a weather band. That way you can listen for the warnings, watch the
storm roll in, and scream "help" all with the same device, as long as you've
kept your battery charged!
