We use a jib downhaul on our P-19, but if I were to have a furler and wanted
to use the jib halyard to raise the mast I would move the halyard block on
the mast. It would seem that you could move it either up or down to clear
the furler mechanism. If you ever wanted to fly a spinnaker, it would make
sense to move the block up. This way it would allow you to raise the mast
AND be a functional spinnaker halyard. Since the spinnaker 'flys' in front of
the forestay this would help prevent tangling around the forestay. If you
attach the halyard to the bow pulpit to raise the mast it should clear the
furling gear completely while attaching it to the chainplate...
