I eliminated the problem by eliminating the stays. Also no need for jib
furler or downhaul since I also eliminated the jib. I installed a
Sunfish-type lateen rig on my P14. It really simplifies rigging and sailing.

Now that I've bragged about it, the whole thing will probably come apart
the next time out.
