Something I've also wished ever since I joined the WestWightWeb.
Damned old anal engineer stuff I guess. [Where _is_ my clipboard,
anyway? :-) ]

When I bought Ursa, or at least in the 86-88 model years, you could
get short rig or tall rig, 6 shrouds or 4 shrouds, backstay or no
backstay ... and that's only the variations I saw personally in a
marina near Annapolis. Then there's the DM-6 or DM-5 mast section.
[One last word on this: the difference in these two is not minor. The
DM-6 is roughly 1.8 times as stiff as the DM-5!!]

All these variations are confusing, in that it makes for greater
difficulty in our long-distance idea sharing, but probably not
critical to sailing success. Most of us seem to do pretty well with
whatever we've got. [Snide remark: whatever _you've_ got beats a
Hunter or its ilk in any case.]
