I purchased a 1994 Potter 19 a couple of months ago. It came rigged with a
Harken furler, the style that has the forestay siezed to the sail. It has
all 3 foresails with the lapper and the genoa rigged for the furler and the
jib with hanks. I have the original forestay and the adjustable fitting that
goes at the base of the forestay. I am considering reinstalling the original
foerstay so that I can use all three sails for an upcoming cruise on the Lake
of the Woods. The Harken design does not allow for changing the sails
without dropping the mast. Can anyone tell me or give me a drawing of how
the forestay connects to the mast? The sketch in the "Owner's Manual" leaves
a lot to be desired. I also need to know how the block for the halyard is
attached. Can anyone tell me of a Harken part number for this block, or at
least a load rating? Are there any rigging updates I need to know about for
this boat? ( I installed Jerry's backstay kit last weekend.) Any info would
be appreciated.
