I was replacing the pins attaching my shrouds to the chainplates
today...the ones that came in the rig were too long. I took the first one
loose and forgot about how two stays will not hold the mast upright...and
...CRASH! the mast fell. no harm to the mast or the dock or anyone but the
plastic on my cute little red windvane busted off. What do y'all recommend
as far as replacment? can you just buy the plastic(???) who's got these
things and which one is the one that fits on my mast? my boat is a 1988
hms potter 15. the vane is very simple: a long skinny
bicycle-spoke-looking thing that is threaded on the bottom with the cute
red plastic thing attached on the top to a metal cross spoke-thing. and it
is held on by being threaded thru two springy metal pieces...the threads
on the spoke hold it from coming out.

Thanks y'all!
